We are thrilled to open our second Bugger Cafe in Tirau. We were aiming for an April 1 opening day, we thought very fitting for April Fools Day. But bugger, we just weren’t quite ready so April 2 was our first day in time to iron out a few issues for Easter weekend.
With our signature tractor and similar decor we are really pleased with the feedback and everything is going well!
Coffee and kitchen teams have all been up to Pipiroa for training and everything seems to be falling into place.

We celebrated our first birthday in style with our fantastic team and an awesome cake made by Joy… tastes even better than it looked and we thought it looked pretty cool.

We really feel like our guests resonate with our sense of humour and do leave a little happier than when they came in!
Looking forward to our second year and all the adventures(and additions!?) that it will bring!!

“Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege”
Firstly a BIG thanks to all those who have come and visited Bugger – we are thrilled so many of you have a sense of humour which is pretty much the same as ours…
John and I have found it particularly rewarding to see that our Bugger concept resonates with you – nothing makes our day more than seeing you openly laugh at what you see or read.
Feedback on the food and coffee is also gratifying – we have taken on board any suggestions and our menu is evolving to meet your needs. We still have changes we want to make – in fact we will always be changing – so there will always be something new for you to try.
We are totally committed to delivering on the ‘Bugger intent’…
We want you leave our cafe feeling a little, or a lot, happier than when you came in.
We believe life can be too serious & we need more laughter! We aim for you to feel totally welcomed by our team, amused by our decor having enjoyed great food & coffee in a relaxed uplifting place.
